The hype is real! All the trailers till now for Avengers: Doomsday!

It’s been seven years since the theatrical release of Avengers: Endgame. Yes, time passes real quick. Do you remember what happened those days in the cinemas worldwide? All I can remember is that a sold out auditorium went crazy when the “Avengers assemble” line kicked in. It was an epic finale to an awesome journey, including numerous movies about our favourite superheroes.

But what happened after that? It was more than natural that Marvel would enter the next phase. However, it didn’t go so well. They tried to make something bigger by betting on the Multiverse, making – mediocre to bad – movies and tv shows. Also, they tried to introduce us to a new super villain, Kang. That also didn’t go as planned. The actor, Jonathan Majors, was accused of domestic violence and Marvel had to stop building on the character due to the uncertainty regarding the actor’s future. Although new rumours state that Kang The Conquer might return, let’s be real. He wasn’t enough as the main antagonist for Avengers.

After all that, some decisions had to be made by Kevin Feige and his team in order to save the MCU. And the Marvel saviours were found. First, the return of Robert Downey Jr in the cast, representing the new main villain of the Avengers, Dr Doom. I don’t know how they are going to do it, or if RDJ is the right choice, but adding Doom as anti-Thanos is a great decision. The second saviour, a Marvel Jesus we could say, is Ryan Reynolds. Deadpool & Wolverine is the best Marvel movie we saw after a long time and did with success something that seemed very difficult. Resetting the Multiverse theme and adding new characters to the franchise in the best way possible.

And here we are. The year is 2026 and the countdown for Avengers: Doomsday has begun. Marvel wants to promote the film and raise our hype by releasing teaser trailers, each dedicated to the heroes we will see in the movie. Many will return, many will be added and the expectations continue to rise. Let’s see the trailers that have been released till now:

At first, there was a trailer showing us the whole cast for the movie. Even though they are many, I am more than sure that Feige keeps a few more names up his sleeve. Nevertheless, the returns and the additions are quite impressive.

The character trailer sequence begins. The first one is the original Captain America with Chris Evans (no hate to Anthony Mackie but he is better as Falcon). We see Steve Rodgers arriving at the house he lived with Peggy Carter and then lifting his child in his arms. We don’t see much, for me just an announcement trailer that Captain will return.

The next trailer is about Thor. Kneeling, holding Stormbreaker, praying to Odin to give him strength to fight and return to his daughter, Love. I don’t why this trailer gives me chills. It doesn’t show much, but the epicness is there. My only wish however is to see a more serious Thor, not the caricature Waititi gave us.

You hear a familiar and distinct voice. It’s Professor X, Charles Xavier, played by Patrick Stewart. Not his first appearance in the MCU as we had this cameo in Multiverse of Madness. However, we don’t know if he is that character or if he is from another earth. In the trailer he is not alone. Ian McKellen is there representing his role as Magneto. My thoughts? I don’t believe that they will have a lot of screen time due to their age and possibly they will act as narrators to explain what happened to the Xmen. That’s just my theory. To tell you the truth, I would prefer to see these characters in full power interacting with the rest of the heroes. Nonetheless, the trailer doesn’t end there. The scene that many of you were waiting for (including me) was there to raise the hype like never before. Cyclops, played by James Marsden, in his comic-accurate uniform, blasting a ray from his eyes while kneeling in a destroyed by sentinels scenery. What more can I say? MCU needed the Xmen and seeing this trailer makes me even more impatient for the 18th of December to come.

The fourth teaser trailer combines multiple characters. It mostly concentrates on the Wakandians, but we also see Namor and, out of nowhere, the Thing from Fantastic Four. I’m interested to see how their stories crossover. As a trailer? Very basic, nothing important or new here.

And as a bonus, Marvel started a livestream video on YouTube that will last for quite some time, as it’s the countdown for the release of the movie. Very creative if you want my opinion. Doomsday is coming.
